Car Stereos: 1991 ford econline van stereo wiring, kenwood cd player, ford mercury

i have tried several diferent plugs to put a Kenwood cd player in my van i get power and memory power to the stereo but no matter what plug ive been given by parts stores i cant get sound . I plug the factory stereo back in works fine.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated im lost thank you.

Hi Ryan,

The plug your van takes is a standard 1987-up Ford/Mercury harness.  If that's not working, I'd suggest the issue you're dealing with is likely the deck itself.  Ensure the volume is up, the in-deck fuse(s) (if any) aren't blown, and it's tuned to something that's guaranteed to give output.
