Car Stereos: sub in back of 05 GMC Envoy XL, gmc envoy xl, gmc envoy

I am looking for help to find out if I have a sub in the back side panel of my envoy.  It has the bose premium sound package and I thought there was a sub in back but there is no sound.  I do hear a fan where I think the sub is so I'm assuming that's the amplifier for the Bose system.  Does this sound right to you?  Or do you think I need to contact GM to find out if there is a sub there or not?  I know I could pull the panel off and look, but that's gonna take more time than I'd like to spend just to look.  If there is an amp there, do you know if I can power my own after market sub from that amp?

Hi Steve.

Ok did you check underneath the middle center console?. I believe thats where the subwoofer its located on those cars. Of course please understand it is hard for me to remember exacly every aspect of every car that i've worked on, now if the subwoofer its in the back you should see a round grill on either side. i bet you could probably hook up an aftermarket sub from that amp. It will play, i just dont think its going to be any louder then the factory sub.
