Car Stereos: 12 volt dc power out from cigarette lighter, cigarette lighter fuse, magellan gps

This has nothing to do with installing a stereo, however, I want to straightwire my Magellan GPS into the cigarette lighter behind the connection on a 2008 Pacifica. How do I remove the front cover so I can tap that power plug? Thanks for any answers

Hi Steve.

Im sorry i have never worked on one of those but you can connect it to the fuse box and get the ground from the chassis get a multi volt metter, check for a fuse with switched 12 volt and you can get the power for your gps from there just make sure that you dont get the power from a control module like the airbags or something important like that, you can get it from the cigarette lighter fuse that will save you all the trouble of taking out the whole dash
