Car Stereos: saturn radio and cassettework,but the cd wont play, weather climate, battery cable

I JUST BOUGHT A 2001 SATURN TODAY AND EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT THE CD PLAYER. IT EJECTS THE CDS AS SOON AS I PUT THEM IN. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?

hi jennifer,

what kind(s) of CDs are you trying to play? some of the older factory units will not play burned CDs from computers.....if you happened to use a burned CD that was set up to burn the mp3 and not a song, then it most likely will not work....

a simple lens cleaning may be necessary or just normal wear and tear on the unit prohibits proper function. weather/climate will always have a factor(especially heat) in longevity of electronics; especially in cars...

the tried and true reset by disconnectiong the - battery cable sometimes is all that is needed....this can save hours of troubleshooting and frustration.....

if you do need to replace the unit, there are many options out there for cd radios in the $150 range.....
