BMW Repair: 1988 BMW 735i no spark or fuel, fuel pump relay, 1988 bmw 735i

Question
There is power at both coil terminals when cranking, but not pulsing on negative.No spark.The fuel pump has 12 volts but puts out no fuel. What would cause no fuel and no spark?

Check the reference sensor.  If your fuel pump is getting 12v at the pump terminals, you have a bad pump; try hitting it, if it then produces fuel pressure, you know the brushes in the pump are corroded/worn out.  Check the main and fuel pump relay's these are commonly bad.
