BMW Repair: getting in 740i 1993 doors locked no power, bmw forums, bimmerforums

how do i get in my 740i 1993 when the battery is dead and therfore not allowing the acivation of the power door locks using the key. slim jim? power across the starter? trunk opens mannually with key .battery inside under back seat.need help<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Ed,
 Thats a good question.  Unfortunately I have no experience with the 7-series, I can only help with the 84-91 3-series.  
 I'm sure there is some way without using a slim-jim (I hope).  I have never experienced this, so I have no clue.

 I would suggest asking on a 7-series specific forum, hopefully someone there can answer your questions better than I.

 You need to take note of your "E-Code".  That is the Code that BMW specifies for YOUR bodystyle.  I'm sure you've noticed that the 7-series has made several bodystyle changes over the years.  Your car is the "E32"  The later 7-series are the "E38" and so on.  When doing searches for parts, its often helpful to include "E32" to narrow it down to your bodystyle, instead of typing in "7-series".  

I deal with the E30 bodystyle 3-series (1984-1991).
