Acura Repair: Question regarding car remote, door lock actuators, time limits

Question
My car remote battery died.  I replaced the batteries, but now I can't figure out how to get my car remote to work again (unlock and lock the car).  Any ideas?  I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual.  Thanks!

Answer
Hello Michelle,

This should work, if not let me know.

NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors and the trunk are closed.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)

2. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver. ( the receiver is most likely located under the audio unit)

3. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

4. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON(II).

5. Within 1 to 4 sec. push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver.

6. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON(II).

8. Within 1 to 4 sec. push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver.

9. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

10.Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON(II).

11. Within 1 to 4 sec. push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver.

12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button again.

13. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and pull out the key.

If you need to program more keys let me know because there is an added step to that. This should work so please let me know if it did not. It is a very frustrating process as it is very time sensitive so be prepared to be frustrated.

Good luck and thank you,
Daniel
