Audio Systems: pioneer SX 1700 receiver, pioneer sx, beep sound

I have a Pioneer SX1700 receiver, but no owner's manual.  I'd like to know how to set the station call buttons to the radio stations of my choice.  Nothing I've tried has worked.

This is an older model and they sometimes had some strange ways of storing the station into the presets.  

I did not find a manual for this model because it is too old -- Pioneer Electronics no longer supports it.

My suggestion is to find a model of similar vintage and chassis type and download the manual for that as the procedure for presets is probably the same.  Try this location to search for Pioneer Stereo receivers.

On newer ones all that is required is to tune the station you want to enter and hold down the preset button for several seconds until it finishes. Usually there is a quiet 'beep' sound upon completion of the entry.
