Audio Systems: Radio Connector Problem, mazda radio, mazda dealer

Question
I'm removing a radio from a '96 Mazda B300 truck and trying to install one in it from a '99 Ford Ranger.  It fits right in but the conncetors on the back of the one I'm taking out are different from the one I'm putting in.  Is there any place out there that will make something that will mate the old conncetor to the one on the new radio?

Answer
Hello Willie,
You will need to go to a Mazda dealer for a wire harness that plugs into the rear of the Mazda radio. You may also go to a salvage yard and cut the radio connector with about 12" of wire on it from a wrecked vehicle. As for the Ford Ranger you may find an adapter at any auto parts store that will mate with the Factory connector in the Ranger. With the pig tail in the Mazda radio and the pig tail adapter in the Ranger all you have to do now is connect the wires together (correctly) for power and speaker outputs. Repair books for each vehicle should show the wiring for each connector and what they are used for. If you need Tech Help in the future feel free to contact me direct at: tdeser@zoominternet.net
