  Are you doing it yourself or were you given an estimate that you are questioning?

  The heater core on a 1996 Blazer pays 5.5 hours.  6.1 hours with air conditioning and they are a complete pain in the ass to do without the proper facilities. Its not something even I would do in my driveway.  I can give you a complete tear down operation if you like but its an 'innie' and the majority of the dash comes out including the cluster, airbags and HVAC box.
