Chrysler Repair: Electrical issues: 99 Stratus, chrysler stratus, fuse box

Question
Hello Kevin,

Thank you for your time to answer my questions and try to help me to understand the situation and resolve the problem.
I’m the owner of a Chrysler "STRATUS" since December 1999. The engine is very good, but I have a lot of problems with the electric system. The problems I experience are:
•   the battery goes down directly after 20-30 minutes if I forget to switch off the lights
•   my back glass heating bottom light interferes with directional lights and the interior lights
•    I have no anti-mist lights  (occurred after reparation)
•   when I switch on several indicators the light on the control panel becomes low
•    I have not any more the lights on my radio panel (occurred after reparation)

Every reparation is a new problem. They repair something and I discover a new problem. Last time I took my car from the garage, the official dealer of the country, they told me that all problems were related to the BCM, and that it was not possible to find a new one in Europe (where I live) because the model was too hold.
I have two questions:
1.   From the very high level and non-professional description I did, do you think that the root cause of the electric problems could be the BCM? (or they just try to find a justification for their incompetence?)
2.   If your answer is yes to question 1, how and where can I find a BCM?

Many thanks for your help.
Best regards Ika
P.S. Sorry for my English, I don't know all technical words

Answer
Hi Ika,
I just found your question in the 'pool', sorry for the delay.
I doubt that your problems are related to the bcm. More likely it involves a weak battery, a faulty relay, or some sort of wiring short circuit.
How old is the battery, and is it near the end of its warranty period? That could explain the rapid decline in function when having left the headlamps "on".
I suspect that the relay for the heated rear window is faulty. It is the large relay located in the fuse box behind the end cap of the dash. Try removiing it to see how other problem systems are working. If those improve, then put the relay back and try removing fuse #6 in the fuse box and see if it still is improved, or if instead when you try the rear window heater the problems return.
On the fog lamps: does the fog lamp 'on' indicator appear on the instrument cluster? When you try the fog lamps is the right low beam head lamp working? If so to both of those, then the fog lamp bulbs may be burned out.
Check into some of these possibilities and let let me know what you find.
