Chrysler Repair: 1997 chrysler concord: no 8V supply to cps, chrysler concord, cam sensor

Question
no power to crank sensor, has 8.9 volts at cam sensor, changed transmission module and computer....still has no spark?

Answer
Hi Keith,
The cam sensor and crank sensor are supplied by the same source: pin 7 at the pcm. The orange wire from that pin goes to a splice in the harness that is located under the intake port of the throttle body, and a separate orange wires branch from there to the cps and cmp. So either that splice is faulty or the wire from the splice to the crank sensor is 'open'. It is up to you how to remedy this, either verify that the wire is open and correct it, or make a new splice at the pcm plug orange wire on pin 7 and route a new wire to the orange wire's pin at the cps plug. Only after you get voltage to the crank sensor plug will you be able to get a crank signal and thus spark.
