Chrysler Repair: replacing starter for 1998 sebring, wire connector, hot wire

Question
yes.  the starter for my 1998 sebring needs to be replace.  First, question is where is it? I looked all over for it.  Second, is this something easy enough for me to get to and replace myself?

Answer
Hi Pat,
Yes this is not difficult, with the tools which are not very special. Begin by removing the - post 'remote' wire from its connection at the left strut tower, so as to disconnect the battery. Put rag around the end of the wire so that it can't make contact with any metal surface nearby. This is important so you don't have a "hot" wire to deal with later. The starter is best found as follows:
It is located from under the car, so lift up and support the right side front and hold it on a jack stand for safety. Look on the side of the engine that faces the front of the car, next to the oil pan, at the place where the engine joins to the transmission. Most of it is on the engine side of that joint. Remove the oil filter (catch oil in a pan). Then unbolt the fat red wire from the motor, then remove the push-on tan wire connector from the solenoid at the motor. Remove the 3 bolts that attach it to the engine/transmission interface, which should then allow you to remove it. Installation is the reverse.
