Question
Hi..just got 97 LHS  Check engine light is on and I get codes 32 and 43 (also the 12 and 55 codes). Car idles high but runs good.

Answer
Hi Jenny,
I am surprised that you got an OBD-I code from a '97 car but maybe there is a substitute engine controller from pre-96 installed. I assume you got these codes with the ignition key cycling technique. The 32 code points to the egr system being non-responsive when tested by the controller. So you might check the vacuum lines and then after erasing the memory by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, driving it for a while and if the 32 continues then remove the egr valve and clean it.
The 43 says that the pulsing current to one or more of the 3 primary coils of the coil pack is not reaching the expected level. That would usually be manifest as a mis-fire or loss of power. So if you are running well with reasonable economy I wouldn't worry to much about that. So check the plug to the spark coil, and after the egr is sorted out go after the 43 code if it persists. Of course it may just be the possibility of an earlier year controller being in the car if my surmise is correct.
