Chrysler Repair: re: malfunction indicator light on 2003 pt. cruiser, malfunction indicator light, dollors

I have a 03' pt. cruiser. We recently had heavy rain & flooding by our house.  I had to drive thru deep puddles to get home.  Ever since then my car makes a weird noise in the engine and the malfuntion indicator light comes on and stay on when I start it up.  Also, when I go at a red light the rpm's shoot up and the car does not accelerate well at all.  I changed the air filter and the oil but it is still doing this.  What should I do?  What can be wrong? And, is it safe to drive it for another day or two.(this started on a wednesday and I can't take the car in until Monday after the weekend).Please help!

The compoiter lost memery try takeing off the pos. cable for one min than hook it back up . this will sometimes reset the compuiter. u wont hurt it by driveing it the dealer will charge u 45 dollors to repromgmam the compuiter takes 15 min.
