Ford Repair: I hope you can answer this one, bronco 4x4, ford bronco

QUESTION: I have an 89 Ford Bronco 4x4 with the 4.9l l6. and i am trying to replace the main bearings and the rod bearing. only i am having to do this with out pulling the engine or transmission. i have already loosened the mounts. oh yeah and by the way i am currently a student at uti. please help me i feel as if all my work so far is in vein

ANSWER: i have searched around, internet- you tube google and a few techs i work with. unfortunatley, don't have an answer. Seems the same answer from all is if your gonna go as far as replacing the bearings. best to do it with the engine out. sorry

QUESTION: Ok yes I know that the best. Way is pull the motor. But seeing to it that I am a student right now I do not have those kind of tools, or the time for that.  I guess I simply need to keep doing what I do best. And that's never giving up and being hard headed. I do thank you for your input and help. Best of luck to you

your welcome, only other thing i found was that by removing the motor mounts, jacking up the engine and lowering oil pan as far as possible. the lower bearings can be removed without too much difficulty. the upper bearings can be removed by turning the engine over by hand and reinsatlled by turning the engine back over in the opposite direction
