Honda Repair: headlamp moisture, honda civic ex coupe, vent tube

Question
How should I deal with removing moisture from a headlamp. 1996 honda civic ex coupe. I dont want to start tearing apart the front end if I don't have to. Also, is this a common occurence? The lights work but it is allfoggy inside.

Answer
Actually Gary, this is very common on 96-2000 Civics.
I'm not sure why they do it more than others but they do. These lamps are all designed to be open to the atmosphere through a small rubber vent tube on the back. But when parked outside on a cool night, they will fog up. Usually after the lights are on for a while they will clear up due to the heat from the bulbs. Unless they are getting "brown"(stained), I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it bothers you, you can remove them and dry them out or replace them. But it only seems to be a problem in the Winter months.
