Hyundai Repair: transmission/speedometer, vehicle speed sensor, defective vehicle

Question
i have a 2002 santa fe and when i'm going down the highway at a set speed , lets say 110 kh it seems that i'm going slower than what the speedometer says. could there be a problem with the spped sensors.also what other problems could a bad speed sensor cause.

Answer
If the speedometer is reading the incorrect speed (but more than 0), the problem is most likely with the vehicle speed sensor on top of the differential in the transmission.  It could also be in the speedometer itself, but this is significantly less likely.

I don't recall seeing any other symptoms with a defective vehicle speed sensor other than a check engine lamp.
