Land Rover Repair: lost of power, engine management computer, check fuel

i have a 2000 land rover disco2 160k, there is no power upon acceleration. The car starts to hesitate and jerk when pressing on the gas when trying to accelerate. Sometimes this can become a dangerous situation in traffic. Please give me some advice as to what the problem may be.

It could be starving for fuel as a result of a failing or clogging pump.  I'd check fuel pressure and see what that shows.  It could have ignition breakdown in which case you would have misfire faults logged in the computer.  I think your first steps should be testing fuel pressure and checking the engine management computer with a Rover scan tool
