Land Rover Repair: Discover window problem, workshop manual, lifter

Hi there, I need help, desperately.
I have just replaced a broken window regulator on the drivers window of my 1996 V8 Discovery.w
Replacing the regulator was simple enough but after I lowered the window it won't close any more than about half way.
With the motor disconnected the window can be lowered & raised fully but with the motor connected it only raises half way.

Any ideas how I can solve the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I don't have a specific answer except to say there is either something broken or loose in the track, or the lifter you obtained is defective, or you have made an error in installation.  I would look over the workshop manual and the car very carefully and the issue should be evident
