Land Rover Repair: fuel filter/pump/crank sensor, mass air flow sensor, crankshaft position sensor

i have a 2000 LR discII V8- 2 days ago it stalled at a sto p sign - cranked over fine but wouldnt start..we towed it home and i put fuel in it and it started fine - so i thot the gas guage might be bad..it ran great for 2 days and then this morning i drove it to church and afterwards it did the same thing - cranks over but wont start - plenty of gas this time...cant find good answer

Hi Bruce,

you'll have to find an independent LR shop or go to your LR dealer to solve this problem.  It could be a number of faults, various sensors can fail: mass air flow sensor (MAF), crankshaft position sensor, fuel temp sensor, ... any one could be at fault.  Could also be fuel pump or its relay.  You'll need to run various tests to see where the trouble resides and with your series II Disco, that means Testbook analysis.
