Land Rover Repair: BCM Programing, becm, lockset

Question
I have a 1996 Range Rover 4.0/SE and the BCM went bad. I purchased another one from a 1999 Range Rover. However, now I was told I need to get it programmed with my car information. Do you know of a shop that can reprogram the unit or does you shop do this kind of work? Thank you in advance.

Answer
You need to bring the vehicle and the BECM to a shop.  We can do it (in Springfield, MA) as can any dealer or shop with a T4 or Autologic system.

However, there are some limitations to a used BECM:
1 - The car will start and run
2 - You can't program the pushbutton entry unless your new BECM is unlocked and you have the lockset barcodes (unlikely)
3 - Your odometer will default to the number in the BECM if it's higher than what's in the instrument cluster.
4 - Your BECM has to match engine type.  1996 is GEMS.  1999 could be Bosch or GEMS; only a GEMS BECM will work.
