Land Rover Repair: Squeking noise, propeller shaft, bullbar

Hi there.

During a off road session i hit either the diff in front or maybe the bullbar on a discover 1, v8, 3.9. After that there is a squeking noise when i accelerate. When i free, or apply very little gas there is no sound. When using power the squeking sound is back and seems to increase in revelutions as the car builds up speed. Can you please help me to identify this.

Hi Pieter,

could be a damaged universal joint bearings when you hit something,  sure sounds like a propeller shaft problem.  Could also be diff bearing damage as well.  Both of these components, when damaged, can generate noise with road speed.
