Land Rover Repair: my 2005 lr3, half tank, instrument pack

Question
While driving I watched my gas hand drop from a half tank to reading no
fuel at all in a split second.   What happened?? Can anyone help me???

You could have a failure in the fuel pump/gas level sender, or a problem with the instrument pack, or a wiring problem.  You can go to the Land Rover workshop manuals at www.landrovertechinfo.com and download the test data but the actual troubleshooting of this particular problem is rather time consuming because you have to take stuff apart for access to the tank sender and them make a bunch of measurements.  But that's the only way to find out what's up
