Land Rover Repair: starter starter solenoid, landrover discovery, starter solenoid

I have a 1998 landrover discovery se I need to replace the starter and starter solenoid on.  I am in Hawaii.  Can I get the part cheaper then at the only dealer here and how easy is this to replace.

We don't usually change just the starter solenoid because the brushes and drive wear out also.  The dealer sells a brand new starter, a Bosch model that's better than what you have now.

Aftermarket parts suppliers do sell rebuilt starters, andtheir cost may be less, but I can't vouch for their being better or even as good.
