Land Rover Repair: Will not start, inertia switch, fuel light

Question
I went to start my 2000 discovery after it had sat 2 days. I turned the key on and all light and dings were as usual. I continued to the start position and nothing happened. I thought there was a security device activated. When I turned the key, the lights didn't even dim. My low-fuel light is on. I checked connections and I check battery and all is tight and strong. Am I missing something? Could that inertia switch I was reading about have something to do with it? Please help.

Answer
Try locking and unlocking with the button.  If that fails you either have a starter circuit problem, or a security lockout.  The only way to know which would be to connect a Land Rover test system and look at the live data to see if cranking is enabled.  If it is, your trouble is in the starter or wiring.  If it's not, it's in the door locks or security or engine management.

Good luck with it
