Land Rover Repair: RANGE ROVER 4.6HSE ENGINE DISABLED, sync signals, door latch

Dear Robinson,
The remote handset to this range has failed to activate to disable the engine,ihave tried to enter the EKA code all invain ,its only indicating KEY CODE LOCK OUT after several attempts please guide on any other probable procedure .

Answer
If you have tried the button and the EKA code unsuccessfully your next step in the field is to swap the driver door latch.  The problem you are having often occurs when the switches in the door latch fail and the latch stops sending the sync signals to the BECM.  Without those signals you can't align the key to the car anymore.  If you swap the latch the problem is likely to fix itself if you insert the key in the lock and turn to lock while pushing the lock button.  Then turn to unlock while pushing unlock.  If it then unlocks from the button it will start.

The other choice is to haul it to a workshop with a T4 or Autologic test system and have them align it.
