Land Rover Repair: Window regulator, factory workshop, workshop manual

Question
My Husband replaced my window regulator and motor in my 2003 freelander in the tailgate. Now when i push the down button it goes down a bit then stops even though i'm still holding the button down. i have to push and let go about a dozen times to get the window all the way down. All so my driver door wont open from the inside unless i pull up in the lock knobm when i pull the door handle. it works fine from the outside

Answer
If the tailgate window and regulator did not have that problem prior to replacement, I'd guess there is an error in installation.  I can't say specifically what's wrong but if the problem only appeared after a repair, one has to look to the "repair" as the cause.  What I'd be checking first is the alignment of the tracks the window lifts and lowers on.  He may have inadvertently loosened and misaligned something.  You may wish to refer to the factory workshop manual, which you can access for a $20 fee from www.landrovertechinfo.com   That is the official service support site.

Good luck with your repairs!
