Land Rover Repair: abs / traction control / descent warning lights disco 2 1999 t registered V8, metallic powder, abs sensor

Question
I am stuck on this one, everyone says put a new hub on this car, to make the 1999 disco abs/traction control and descent lights go out! what a stupid way forward? there must be a lot of enquiries about this problem, can you help please?
I have been told that cheap brake pads could be at fault? I usually diagnose a fault before replacing parts, is there any expert on your site that can help with this?   or do i have to replace everything at my expense until the problem is cured?  thank you

Answer
No, mainly the ABS sensor cause that problem. The signal is noisy. So, the factory delivers already a newer version sensors. They much longer and directly go to the ABS control unit (so, there is no connection at all).

When the brake disc dismounted pull out the old sensor, and try to clean the teeth in the hub (they gives the signal), and if its very greasy with some metallic powder it can worsen the signal's cleanness.

Clean with pressurized air, it's enough. Clean from rust the hole of the sensor. Then mount in the new sensor, (with only  1 o-ring), and lead the line to the ABS ECU, where you have to pull out from the connector the old pins, and put these new wires in. Try to lead the cable near the fewest metallic parts (you can cross, but try to escape from the paralell ways).
