Land Rover Repair: 97 Discovery 4L Engine Wet - Water Proof, engine sensors, water proof

Question
I wash/pressure cleaned my Rover and it has been a week (7 days ago) and it still seems to be affected.  Engine now starts up and runs properly for 2-3 minutes.  Then engine starts to run rough and white smoke(fuel?) billows out the tailpipe.  Attempts at keeping the engine running by pumping the gas pedal creates misfires and ultmatly, the engine cuts off.  Please note that engine ran fine prior to this "cleaning" process.  Ideas?  Also, assuming I can resolve this what would be the best way to waterproof the engine for daily driving?

Answer
You should take the truck to a shop that can look at the live data from your various engine sensors.  They should be able to spot whatever is wrong.

As to waterproofing - we pack the connectors with dielectric grease after cleaning everything thouroughly
