Land Rover Repair: Brake Pedal Mechanical Noises, abs system, mechanical noise

There is an intermittent moaning/groaning/mechanical noise when I hit the brake pedal ( usually around low speeds but not always ).  It "sounds" like something is failing but was told by a mechanic the brakes were working just fine.  The noise originates from near the brake pedal and dash, I can clearly hear the noise inside the cabin of the car.  I can't get it to repeat for a mechanic to diagnose.  Please HELP !

is this noise unlike the one usually heard when the ABS system is activated?  It could be a problem within the ABS system. Is there an associated vibration with the noise?

Usually, LR mechanics will try to find any ABS faults when they inspect your brakes.  The ABS system is the usual suspect for such noises.

You can always go to another shop and have your brakes inspected, just in case.
