Mazda Repair: engine shut off, air flow meter, intake manifold gasket

Question

-------------------------

Followup To Sometimes it won't do that I can drive it but when I come to a stop the engine shuts off.

Question -
the engine run good but when i put it in gear it shut off what wrong?

Answer -
I need a little bit more information. But if this is a mazda proteget you have, Chrck the breather tube. The often get a crack in it and when u go to put the vehicle in gear the engine twists pulling on the breather tube letting air in bfore the air flow meter then the engine will die.If this isnt it, give me alittle more info and then i can give you a more accurate conclusion.
Good luck

Answer
Hi eric.
Have you checked the bottom of the breather tube yet? It is best if you remove it and bend it a little bit and inspect the whole breather tube.. If there is a crack in it then replace it. Also while you are at it check to dee if you have a vacuum leak. you may have a cracked intake manifold gasket. Follow me up on a little bit more information.
Good luck
