Motorcycle Repair: 97 YAM XV1100 - REMOVING BATTERY, battery cables, bill silver

Question
I've been trying to remove the battery from a 97 Yamaha Virago 1100. I've revoved the seat, side covers, and the battery's rubber retaining belt but I can't slide the battery out of the black plastic housing located under the seat. Is there some other restraint on it ?

Answer
Marc, tough question for MrHonda!

Looks pretty straightforward to me, but I don't see where the battery cables attach to the battery. You may have to disconnect them from the opposite end of the battery box. Some Hondas are like that, where you have wiring connectors on either end of the battery retainer box, but I can't see much more to advise you of, other than these drawings.

Try to pry gently underneath the battery case to see if it has gotten stuck to it because of heat or if there is a rubber cushion underneath.
