Motorcycle Repair: electrical trouble with 2000 Suzuki VZ800, suzuki vz800, electrical trouble

Question
David,
I got stuck in the rain with my bike, and didn't have a place to keep it dry.  It was running great until it got rained on, but the next morning I started to ride (bike and road mostly dry) and the front cylinder was not running. I pulled it apart on the side of the road (being careful to keep everything clean and such) and inspected everything.  It looked fine. Put it back together and it ran great for 60km or so, but since then, the front cylinder is running intermittly (or running with really weak spark?).  I tested the coils, and even switched the coils, and tried the plug leads separately. It's the front cylinder all the time.  I figure it has to be the ignitor (As i'm getting voltage from the signal generator and the rear cylinder consistently runs fine.  Is there any way to test the igniter itself, or do you know what other problem I might have?

Answer
Im sorry.

I don't know what the igniter should test at. I would also have to think you have a bare are bad connection somewhere else. A bike should be able to get wet. I would check for a Lose connection or bad wire from coil to cdi. Good luck with this...Let me know what you find

And sorry i really could not help
