Motorcycle Repair: brake light not working, dyna low rider, pedel

Question
I have noticed the brake light on my 93 dyna low rider is not working when I press the front brake lever and the rear foot brake lever, but the tail light is still working. the bulb's elements are intact but the brake one does not light up. Is it possible for both switches to not be working?  I have had the bike repaired recently after an accident, and the front brake lever and master cylinder were replaced.

Answer
The odds of both switches not working are pretty slim. I wouls suppect that you either have a short or a break in the wiring.
Go to the rear brake switch. You should have two wires going into it. One is hot and the other goes to the light. With a test light check for the hot wire. If no hot wire then you have a short from the breakers. If you do have a hot wire then depress the brake pedel and see if you have voltage going out the other wire. Follow the power back to the bulb.
You will have to do the same thing for the front switch to find the problem.
Good luck and happy riding
