Nissan Repair: 2008 Nissan Sentra - paint job, nissan sentra, tiny scratches

Hi I have a cute 08 nissian Sentra that i want to get painted. There only a few tiny scratches on it but i want to change the color of the car. My car is black and i want to paint it a bright green with thats sparkly finish (sorry i'm not big on auto terms). Maybe some custom paint detail. How hard is it to paint over black and what is the average cost to do somthing like that?

I think your color is metallic green. Depending on the shade of the green will determine cost. If the green you desire is a lot lighter than the existing color, then extra body work (sanding the paint off) and primer will be the key. Leaving traces of the existing dark color will affect the end result as the darker color will bleed through. Other costs associated with the paint job are existing conditions of the finish, as you said, repairing those scratches will be another cost. Sirface preparation is the key to a successful paint job.

With all that said, you will get what you pay for. I have seen costs from a few hundred dollars to about 3 or 4 thousand. I guess it all depends how much you want to pay for it. I would say to get a good paint job for your vehicle would be about $2,000.

I have not seen the existing condition of your finish, so this is a major ballpark figure.
