Nissan Repair: nissan frontier wont start, nissan frontier, head gasket

Question
i have a 98 nissan frontier. it overheated on me and melted my plug wires after i got them replaced it wont start.i checked the firing and its getting it as well as gas. is there a sensor of some sort or anything else it could be?

Answer
Hi George -

If it overheated, it could be the head gasket is blown? Have you checked the compression?

Another thing you can do is fill the radiator to the top with water (engine cold). With te cap off, try starting the car. If the water gushes out of the radiator, then you have to replace the head cover gaskets. Big job.

Why did the car overheat?

Let me know -
