Nissan Repair: Infiniti Qx4, 2002 infiniti qx4, infiniti qx4

Question
I have a 2002 Infiniti Qx4 with 58,000 miles. Would you recommend a timing belt replacement at this point  or can I wait?
Also, could you advise how to replace the cabin filter?
Thanks

Answer
Jeff,

90,000 miles is the recommended change interval for the timing belt.  If you were conservative you could change it at 60,000.  Check the owners manual to be sure for the service interval.  Nissan extended the change interval several years back to 90,000 miles.  The cabin filter is behind the glovebox.  Simply purchase new ones, Wal Mart now sells them as do parts stores, and remove the cover and slide the filters out and install the same way, just reverse.  Slide one in and then the other and then reinstall the cover and then the glovebox.  You just need a phillips screwdriver.
