Nissan Repair: repairing windshield wiper linkage, windshield wiper motor, altima gxe

Question
I have a 2001 Altima GXE.  I've already replaced the windshield wiper motor which hasn't solved the problem. It looks like the linkage has come apart.  How do you get under the cowling to get at the linkage?  How do you get through the plastic cover that the linkage is in?  Thanks.

Answer
there are tiny screws that hold the cowl in.  you may have to remove some trim on your model to get to them.  there are probably a few under the hood on the firewall as well.  once the cowl is removed, you will see a "ring" that connects the two arms together, often this part wears down and the driverside arm pops off the pivot and you only have the passenger side that works.  hope this helps, ive done this repair a few times on my old nissan, its not too difficult.  good luck, let me know how it goes - xxp_sebby@yahoo.com.  thanks.
