My front passenger window quit going up.  The motor is running, but when we took off the door panel, the cable looks like it has come off the spool.  Do we need to replace the regulator, and if not, how do we get the cable back on the spool of the regulator?

The regulator needs to be replaced and it comes as an assembly.  The cables are already connected on the new unit and it is a matter of unbolting the old one and installing the new one.  I would say get a Haynes Manual but they do not go into great detail for this.  It is just a matter of following how the old one comes out and install the new one the same way.  Be careful not to cut yourself since the openings are sharp.
