David,

No, you do not have to pull the motor.  It is easier to get a Haynes manual at Autozone, Checker or the like for about $20 bucks and it will show you photographs on how to get it out.  If memory serves me you only have two bolts that have to come off and one is small and the other is large as it is also a bellhousing bolt.  Disconnect the battery first as not to arc the positive battery cable.

Von,
Thank you for your resp[onse to my question. Although, the info you gave is very basic. I have disconnected the battery (first). I have now managed to get the starter bolts out. Now, its the removing the starter. It is a very tight fit and very hard to manuver the starter to get it out. I also went and spent the $20 on a Chilton manual but all it says is the same thing you said. (disconnect the battery and take out the starter bolts) I have the basic knowledge of mechanics but removing this starter from this car is the MOST complicated job I've ever attempted. It's noting like working on a chevy. I am still trying to get the starter out. I just think there has to be an easier way of doing this. I've had to remove alot of external stuff just to be able to access the starter bolts and now with it loose am unable to get it out. It looks like I'll have to take more stuff off (motor mounts) to get the starter out of there. I sure wish there was a step by step process for removing this starter available. It appears that I'll have done practicly everything but pull the motor on this car just to get the starter out. If you have any more in put or helpful info on this matter I certainly would appreciate hearing from you again. Thank you for the time, consideration and response you have provided.
Sincerely,
David

Answer
David,

If you lift the starter up on the back end and move it up then you can drop the starter out nose down.  Yes, it is a pain to move it around but you can do it.  If you really want you could disconnect a motor mount and that would help.  But, I am lazy and you really can do it the way I say...
