Porsche Repair: 993 Ignition Key, wd 40, brand cars

Question
QUESTION: After running the car today (quite normally) I was unable to remove the ignition key. The engine turns off and everything seems fine, except that it will not come out.
Any ideas please.

ANSWER: I've had issues with various brand cars that when I could not remove the key I had to turn the steering wheel left or right a few degrees.
Have you tried this?

What type of transmission does this have: tiptronic or manual?

QUESTION: Tiptronic, and the steering lock has not caused the problem.
After speaking to Porsche am going to try a bit of WD40!
Thanks vm.

Answer
If the WD 40 does not work here are a few possible solutions:

A) Make sure the shifter is fully in Park and that the shift knob button is fully up.

B) Rock the car back and forth and replace it in Park.

C) Adjust the cable linkage on the shifter.
