RV Repair: RV Slideout, bed frame, winnebago

Question
I have a 2000 Winnie 35ft. with bedroom and living room slideouts.  The bedroom slide out is working as far as to going in and out but when it does it makes a clunking noise twice... at the half way in or going out. What does this mean and is it something to deal with right away? I'm thinking it has something to do with a gear or that there is something on the track. I have looked under the bed frame to see if I could see anything in it's way and saw nothing.

Answer
Elaine, This is a motor home I assume. Winnebago used several different styles over the years. Is this slide just a motor gear drive, or is it gear drive with cable assist? If it is just gear then at the point you hear and feel the bump something is happening and it isn't going to be good to let it continue happening. It may be in the gear box that drives the slide. Try and find out what slide drive system you have and I can be more specific for you. Thanks, Bill
