RV Repair: a crack in my tub, plastic welder, fiberglass fabric

Question
yes i would like to know the best way to fix a crack in the tub  on my rv

Answer
To repair a crack in your tub first you need to know what caused it to crack. Most times it is because it needed more support under and without it and the weight of a person the crack happened. Now if it is a plastic tub you can try abs cement and some fiberglass fabric to try and repair it from underneath. If it is a newer coach there is a chance that it is fiberglass and if this is the case then I would recommend having it done by a professional. There are repair places that will come to you and do the repair. If it is plastic you can also weld it with a plastic welder as long as you know the type of plastic it is and can get some of that material to use as the welding rod. In any case the crack in the tub is not ever a good thing and if at all possible it may be better to replace it. There are even places that will take your tub and use it as a cast to make a form that they can fabricate a new one for you. Most cases they already have the mold and can make you one within a couple weeks.
