RV Repair: slide out leak, slide systems, slide room

Question
I own a 1993 coachman catalina model 315rl. the slide out is a 15 ft and has a cable system for running it in and out. We leave the RV at the river with the slide out during the summer, but noticed a leak at the ceiling of the slide in the center. when i looked at the roof outside, there was a gap between the slide and the rubber seal in the center. It does not leak with the slide in. After coming home I opened the slide and the gap was gone. Will the adjustment of the slide cause this and how do I fix it. The slide also seems to close at the top before the bottom.

Answer
Hi Todd. I don't normally give advise about making slide room adjustments. The reason is that; 1. There are too many different slide systems. 2. Even when I am making the adjustments, I often call the manufacture to help me on the  different settings. 3. If you make a mistake you can cause damage.
The cables may be stretching over time. You may want to look at installing a slide topper on the coach. Good Luck
