RV Repair: onan genset, pump fuel, govenor

Question
I have an old rv (85 allegro) it has set-up for a couple of years and the gen would run rough. I changed the carb, fuel pump, fuel lines, air filter. I set the carb and govenor per the manual. It produces 124 vac with no load and 115 with full load. It now runs well with no or little load, but when a full load is applied (air conditioner) after a few minutes the 30 amp over current protector will pop out.
Any suggetions?

Answer
Hi Chuck:
Sounds like you did all the right things. The voltage drop is normal. You either have a weak circuit breaker or you are really drawing close to or over 30 amps. The way to check is to put a current clamp over the wire and measure the current. If it really is high you might have a bad compressor and/or fan motor. If the breaker trips at low amperage you need to get a new breaker. Good luck.
