RV Repair: flooded now, air cleaner, good starting point

I got the thing to run but as I let it run it started to surge. I could start it after awhile and it would do it after a few minutes. I pulled the plug and the plugs were wet and black. I know it is running rich and flooding how do I adjust the misfire and adjust the carb so it doesnt run so rich. I checked and do get a spark. I am lost now.

Hi Steven:
First thing to do is to make sure the choke is coming off. Take the air cleaner off the carb and you can then feel the choke butterfly with you finger. It should be fully open when warm. There are two idle screws and a good starting point is all the way in and out 1 1/2 turns. If that does not lean it out then you probably need a new carb, I have not had much success rebuilding those. They just do not rebuild well.
