RV Repair: Replacing Windows in Travel Trailer, coachmen travel trailer, solid slider

Question
Good morning, again,  I hate to keep bothering you but I just found this site and from your experice and extertise it seems that you are exactly the  Uncle  I am looking for. lol Just to give you all the info, sorry if I am repeating myself, I have a 32  1984 Coachmen Travel Trailer, I had just written to you about an electrical problem. But I am also interested in replacing the windows in my trailer. I would like to do an almost complete remodel, but doing it while I am using it. The windows are orig (22 years old) and are the crank out jalocy (sp?) windows. I would like to replaced them with the solid slider type windows. Is this possible without cutting the frame/walls? And if it is possible how involved is it. I am fairly handy with tools, (know how to use them)I just don t want to risk the integrety of the trialer or not have the new windows fit. Thank you again for all you help and time.

Answer
1) It is certainly possible to do this. Most window opening sizes have remained fairly similar over the years.
2) If your frame is wood, it would be very easy to adjust the sizes to what you might need. If it is aluminum, then that gets a bit more difficult. You would need to be able to weld it or have someone weld it after cutting and adjustments are made. This would also be a great time for you to rewire your lights while you have the windows out.
3) The best way, but probably a lot more costly, would be to have all the replacement windows made to fit the existing openings. But like I said, they may make windows that will already fit these openings.
I hope this helps you out,
Dave
