RV Repair: RV walls delamination, particle board, paneling

Question
Just purchased a 1990 Fleetwood and the cabinets are "peeling" I would like to know the best way to repair them. Could I use a steamer (as with wallpaper) to get it off? What should I use to re-finish the walls and cabinets once I remove the peeling material?

Answer
Unfortunately, it sounds as if your cabinet material and paneling is losing it's lamination. If you peel it off, there will be nothing there (other than plywood or particle board). At that point, painting it would be an option. Or you could replace the paneling, which would be a large job.
There is nothing wrong with painting. Too many people think that you have to replace with the same material that was in there to begin with. But you could make it look very nice by painting, and it would be a lot less work than replacing completely. Hope this helps.
