RV Repair: RV purchase, class c rv, rv purchase

Question
I am looking to buy a used Class C, RV that sleeps 8 (I have 5 in my family and was looking for about a 29-31 footer) and will withstand use in Alaska (where i will be living).  I found a couple models I like (Minnie Winnnie and Fleetwood), but was have a couple of questions about buying a used vehicle:
1. What things should I look for that might bight me in a used purchase?
2. Which brand/model would you recommend and how old should I now accept (ie improvements that really make a difference)?
3. What is the best way to purchase, local dealer, internet, or other?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

Answer
I own a Winnie and really enjoy it.
I would look for water damage, mileage, wear and tear that is excessive for the coach's year and mileage, whether it has been wrecked.
The year depends on the condition and the mileage but if yoiu are looking at a Winnie, I would stay 97 or newer and try to find a Ford V-10 chassis.
I bought my last one over the internet and had no problems
